Quit... Sundaram Select Midcap
Early 2005: We strongly recommended Sundaram Select Midcap because...
- Corpus size was small.
- Equity Fund Manager / Team was excellent.
- Overall performance of schemes of the fund house was quiet encouraging.
- Also met most of our internal fund selection parameters.
- We felt this Midcap fund would do very well going ahead, though other advisors were not recommending this midcap fund.
ValueResearch had given * * * rating to Sundaram Select Midcap.
Then untill May 2006:
Sundaram Select Midcap: Proved to be No. 1 performing midcap fund.
Then, this midcap fund caught investors & advisors fancy.
June 2006: We were shocked to see the corpus of the fund crossing 950 crores in May'06 whereas the April'06 corpus figure released
in May'06 was around 750 crore.
Sept 2006: Corpus size swelled.
Sundaram Select Midcap : Rs. 1200 crore.*
Oct 2006 Aurum - We Recommended - QUIT
We were proved right!
Oct '06 - Jan '07, Sundaram Select Midcap gave one of the worst returns in midcap funds category.
